Elevate tracks to professional quality with minimal creative intervention
The Challenge
Recode Records boasts a roster of artists who are hands-on with their mixdowns, preferring to maintain creative control through to the final stages of production. The label sought a mastering solution that would respect the integrity of the artist’s mix while ensuring the final product stood up to industry standards in a very competitive market.
The Solution: Stem Mastering
The strategy is to implement stem mastering as the final touch to the artists' work. Instead of tweaking countless individual tracks, artists provided between 5 to 8 stems, grouping elements of their mix into categories like kick, drums, bass, synths, vocals, and FX.
The Result
The stem mastering approach at Recode Records has been a resounding success, yielding professionally polished tracks in a fraction of the time. Artists are thrilled to hear their vision brought to life with newfound depth and dimension, while retaining the essence of their original mix.
